When in Rome

Due to our detour to Cinque Terre we only had a whistle stop tour of Rome. We arrived at 5:00pm and all the major attractions were closing up for the day. That didn't stop us though. We were determined to see all the major historic sights. We spent about three ours walking the feet off ourselves.
Just as we decided we had enough of the walking and it was time for a beer we bumped into a friend who had also been at the wedding in Tuscany. It really is a small world. M had been wondering the streets himself in search of a good spot for a rest so we joined forces and J ordered one of the largest beers I have ever seen. All that walking works up a thirst you know.

We found a great little restaurant off the tourist track. It seemed to be all locals eating there which suited us just fine. We tucked into plates of delicious spaghetti. I have loved the pizza and pasta in Italy but now I have had my fill and I am ready for some fresh fish and delicious meat in Dubrovnik. What I will miss is my daily fix of gellato.
