a little about me

I am originally from Dublin, Ireland but I am currently living in Sydney, Australia. After studying Computers at University I decided that I needed to see a little of the world. So I packed my bag and headed to one of the farthest away countries. That was 10 years ago. I thought I was only coming for a while but every year when I would re-evaluate I would inevitably decide that Sydney was the place for me.

After about three years I was getting itchy feet but then a new guy started in work and he was HOT! And more importantly he was my J. He’s not Australian either. He’s from the UK/Canada (depending on who asks). We started dating and then moved in together. In 2006 we bought a house here in Sydney so it looks like we’ll be staying for a while. We have even extended our family by getting a dog called Teddy.

I work as a contract programmer writing applications for Traders. While I enjoy my job (mostly because of the people I work with) I’m really not that into computers. I love my food. This is something that I inherited from my Mum and when we’re together there is a lot of talk of food. From the minute I get up in the morning I start to think about food. I love thinking about what I am going to eat next. Food plays such a big part in my life. Sometimes too big a part, like right now when I really need to loose some weight.

I stumbled upon the world of blogging a few years back and after a few months of reading blogs I decided that I could try this lark myself. I had great fun photographing my food and experimenting with my little point and click camera. Some of the photos turned out great and I learned a lot. J was always there to give me tips and hold my reflector. He gets to enjoy all the fruits of my blog and in return he helps me pick and choose which photos look best.

Currently I am going through a bit of a lull in blogging. I think the effort involved in photographing my food eventually got too much for me. I needed a little break from it. I think it will be rekindled again but in the mean time I will still post sporadic little titbits for your delectation.
